WHS Memoriam

January 19, 2008

Today Barbara Eberhart Ryan passed away after a long battle with Cancer. She will be missed.

Barbara was placed under Hospice care at home on Tuesday January 15th. She died peacefully at 3:39 P.M. today, Saturday January 19, 2008.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Collierville Funeral Home (901-853-2628)

It is on Poplar in Collierville next to the Wal*Mart and the Methodist Church is next to the funeral home.

The funeral is Thursday at 2 pm at the Collierville United Methodist Church on Poplar with burial at Forest Hill South on Holmes Road.

Tentative plans are: Visitation at Collierville Funeral Home (901) 853-2628 (to be scheduled), services at Collierville United Methodist Church on Poplar and burial at Forest Hill South on Holmes Road.

Barbara lived around the corner from me in Graceland and I remember going to a party on her patio. I am glad I got to see her at the class of 62 reunion.

We have lost still another class mate with the passing of Barbara Eberhart Ryan, who lost her struggle with cancer yesterday. She was a very special person, who I got to know very well years after we graduated. We were neighbors in Collierville and would walk together often. I have never known a more caring and selfless person. She had the gift of hospitality and always made you feel so welcome in her home. And she LOVED to dance! There will be an empty place in my life now, but I am glad she is no longer suffering.

sad news Classmates, Barbara Eberhart passed away yesterday. My God watch over her. So glad we had the time togather at the 62 Class reunion this past year.

All, I am thrilled that Barbara and Ray attended our reunion; The Class of 1962's, and had a wonderful time! I have asked Carol Anne if she can locate her pictures that were taken at our reunion; I will look through mine also; so we can once again see how happy everyone was; and see pictures of Barbara and Ray taken that night! Life is so precious; we just do not think about this until one leaves us a little over 5 months later that was there that night; having a ball; dancing, laughing; enjoying the moment! I am so Blessed that we all had that time with them together!

Barbara was a very special lady, a strong Christian, devoted to her family and friends. Will any of us ever forget Ray and her dancing the night away at our 04 reunion? Her spirit will always be with each of us.
