MessageType: Suggestion CommentsI think it would be very beneficial if David Cullum would post a monthly summary ( or more often if he wishes) of the stock market (not his $$$ in his own holdings). He has a very good perspective and is close to the action. I have followed his observations and comments since last August and the S&P should be so good. MessageType: Suggestion CommentsI heard that one of my classmates Louis Bocchini had died...anybody have information on that..please email me at eikner707@yahoo.com Robert Gandy 26631 Hawk Terrace Willits, CA 95490 (707 459-3991 eikner707@yahoo.com MessageType: Suggestion CommentsPlease send your changes of address to Susan Palmer Bayless, susanbayless@bellsouth.net, for future reunions. See you in 2014! MessageType: Suggestion CommentsI am the third from the left, front row in 6th grade picture of Mrs. Whiteway's class. William Miller MessageType: Praise CommentsI just wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed my visit to this site. I didn't realize that some of your class members I have known for a long time but didn't know they were in this class. The Class of 68 has a website and would like to invite you to give us a visit. Bill has been gracious enough to put the link on the "Other Classes" page. Thanks Bill. MessageType: Suggestion CommentsThis WHS '64 website is excellent. Thanks for all of your hard work, team! This was only my second time to the site, and I enjoyed reading the feedback, seeing all of the many nostalgic pictures of our youth, reunions, and wonderful friends from the past. As I was browsing through the pages of the annual, I noticed that my graduation picture could not be found anywhere. Yes, I really did graduate from WHS, even though I used to enjoy riding through Shoney's and McDonalds more than actually applying myself academically. Didn't social events come first? (Smile) Anyway, when you wonderful team members get time, you might want to check the missing page. You may have forgotten on purpose, as I did have one of the worst teased hairdos around in 1964. Great website indeed! Sincerely, Bonnie Jordan Chiassson MessageType: Suggestion CommentsBill, how do I add comments to deceased classmates "in memoriam" page. FYI, George Morris was "Geech" not Cheech but he'd get a kick out of it! Thanks again. Did the photo I tried to scan work out? MessageType: Suggestion CommentsHey everybody, The Mayor hear. Just to let you all know, or should I WARN you guys in the Arkansas,Tennessee,Mississippi area. James ( Dewey ) Smith along with his lovely wife Karen are now in the great state of Arkansas and have left the Land of the FRUITS & NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!. Welcome back Dewey to the wonderful SOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clyde " The Mayor " MessageType: Praise CommentsWOW! I just now found this site. It is amazing! Thank you to all and especially Bill for all the hours of work needed for such an extensive site. I definetly will go thru my pictures over the holidays and send whatever I find to share. Now look at the birthday page and realize that my birthday is next Tuesday, December 11. So, I expect lots of gifts, or at least some e-cards at SharonJoLandry@yahoo.com. Thanks and Happy Holidays to all! Sharon Jo Stickley MessageType: Suggestion CommentsMy husband, Mike, and I were talking over lunch today, down here on the Gulf Coast, about how we really can't ever go home. He works for the Marriott Grand Hotel and occasionally has guest from Memphis. They get to talking about Memphis and the subject of crime always comes up. Whitehaven has changed so much that it is virtually unrecognizable. There are a few "old timers" still living there, but most have moved on. I told Mike, though, that my sense of community with my high school friends comes from the Internet and through emailing. Since our last reunion I have caught up with so many old friends and have kept in touch through email. When I get homesick, I can pull up this web site and "visit" with friends from Whitehaven. The Whitehaven we knew does not exist any more. It only lives in our memories. It is our past and we need to hang on to that and to each other. MessageType: Praise CommentsI agree with Carol Anne..... it is a shame that when we get the chance to visit Whitehaven, instead of reviving wonderful memories and fun times at WHS, we find a community run down and in need of 1964 again. That is why I, and many of you, are so grateful to Bill for basically "re-creating" our youth. As I slowly read through the "In Memorium" section, I felt tears build in my eyes, seeing classmates that died at such early ages of their life. Whether you know it or not, God blessed this class in 1960-1964 and is blessing all of us today with grandchildren, health, life and being able to communicate with each other in ways unimaginable in 1964. While unable to make the last reunion, I do look forward to seeing emails you send to each other; I even look forward to seeing "Woody" Paige on ESPN. That in itself is very entertaining.....Ha.. My wish for each of you is that you know and love Jesus and that you have a wonderful CHRISTmas and an exciting 2007. God Bless You All................Glen MessageType: Praise CommentsThanks for all your work. I just went through the deceased pages for the first time and was startled and saddened by so many memories gone. Wish we had a reunion every year. The fortieth was too short. How blessed we were to grow up when and where we did. Thanks. Ron(nie) Sykes MessageType: Praise CommentsHey Guys & Gals!!!!!!!!!!!! Clyde " The Mayor " Harbin here. Although it's my birthday tomorrow. I wanted to say what a great web site our classmates have done. Instead of singing "" Happy Birthday "" to me . We should sing to our web crew for the great job they all have done these past several months. Thanks again WHS64 classmates. Clyde & Jan.......... Oh !!!!!!!!!!! by the way, Jan Hardy and I got married last Saturday the 20th of January ' 2007 !!!!!!!!!!! See you all soon at the next WHS Reunion !!!!!!!!!!!! MessageType: Praise CommentsI just wanted to thank the web team for such a great job. There are two sad areas though, at least to my thinking. The first one being the ones we've lost through the years. The other is that very few of our brave vetrans have posted anything on the site for them. You may not think or yourselves as heros, but we feel you are. Please post your stories. I want to congratulate Clyde and Jan on their marriage. They look so happy in their wedding pictures. Good Luck and Best Wishes for the coming years. Be happy!!!! Again thanks to all the hard work done on this site. I love coming here and thinking of our youth and finding out what everyone is doing. MessageType: Praise CommentsI want to thank Carol, Bonnie, James and Rick for putting the oldies together. That is so awesome! Good work, guys! MessageType: Praise Commentsi just want to thank carole and rick for posting the love songs..what a great idea!! MessageType: Praise CommentsSusan Palmer Bayliss just told me about this site- serves me right for missing the last reunion. What a great visit to the past. All of you have done a wonderful job. Now I can be sure I can still find everyone. Suzie Morris Ball- still in Stone Mountain GA MessageType: Suggestion CommentsI will always remember the night we graduated. It was a bit warm, as I recall and those wool gowns didn't help much. It was a happy/sad time for me. It was exciting thinking about the future and going to college, but sad that I would be leaving all my childhood friends and the school that was right across the street from where I lived. I knew that nothing would ever be the same. I sat between Glenn Gowen and Jimmy Gardner, two of my best buddies from home room. I was so nervous that I held hands with both of them until it was over. I don't think I ever saw Jimmy again after that night and now he is among our departed classmates, which saddens me a lot. I kept up with Glenn over the years (and still do) since he went to work for Delta Airlines and worked with my husband. I will put some more memories on as they come to mind and hope a lot of other people will, too. MessageType: Suggestion CommentsCongratulations Clyde and Jan. MessageType: Suggestion CommentsPlease add to Steve Watson's birth and death information that he was an outstanding artist who lived in California and designed labels for Gallo wines early in his career. He was a faithful friend. On another note, thank you for providing this website. My brother Hugh Wardlaw let me know it was available and I have greatly enjoyed "catching up" with dear friends. MessageType: Suggestion CommentsOk classmates, those of you that couldn't make the ' 62 Reunion missed out on alot of good dancing!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm talking about the ' 64 WHS Dance-mates. There were fourteen ( 14 ) WHS64 classsmates present at the 62 reunion. The most of any other class except the 62 classmates. I think that speaks for its self regarding Rock & Roll classmates from OLE TIGER HIGH. The 64 classmates really know how to carry the party regarding dancing. We got the old ' 62 seniors up off their butts and onto the dance floor forsure. We all had a nice time, and look forward to the ' 63 Reunion next August ' 2008. Thanks Cecelia for everything. Clyde " The Mayor " Harbin . MessageType: Praise CommentsJust a special thanks to Bill for the great job of moving the site to another server. It looks great and didnt miss a beat! MessageType: Suggestion CommentsThanks Bill for the update on our web site transfer. Like Bob V. stated, keep up the great work for all WHS classmates. Hope everyone had a safe Thanksgiving and peaceful gathering with family members. Look forward to the next gathering of Tiger classmates in '08. Think about our Troops this Holiday for a safe trip home. Semper Fi MessageType: Suggestion CommentsGreat Christmas tree! MessageType: Suggestion CommentsWe have lost still another class mate with the passing of Barbara Eberhart Ryan, who lost her struggle with cancer yesterday. She was a very special person, who I got to know very well years after we graduated. We were neighbors in Collierville and would walk together often. I have never known a more caring and selfless person. She had the gift of hospitality and always made you feel so welcome in her home. And she LOVED to dance! There will be an empty place in my life now, but I am glad she is no longer suffering. MessageType: Suggestion CommentsBarbara was such a sweet friend. She was such an amazing, caring person. When we were about 10 years old we used to ride our bicycles thru Graceland. At our 40th reunion, Bill and I sat with Barbara and Ray and lauged and had such a fun time. Barbara and Ray came to the funeral home last year when Mother died. I know Mother is taking good care of her until we see her again. It is so wonderul to have such fond memories. Barbara was very special to all of us. Anne Luckett (Isbell) MessageType: Suggestion CommentsCarol Anne and I have been emailing about trying to get people interested in having a "scaled down" reunion next summer. I'm not the organizer type person, but would be willing to work on it with others, and so would Carol Anne. Any suggestions????? If there's not a lot of interest, it's o.k. MessageType: Praise CommentsWhat a great site. You are doing an excellent job. Many thanks. PS., I served in the U. S. Navy for 21 years. Retired 1982 as a commissioned officer.
MessageType: Suggestion CommentsPlease add the following names to the class of '64: Shelia Ann McArthur (Mulroy) Barry Michael Mulroy MessageType: Suggestion CommentsThe BBQ place that Carol referred to in Southaven is called Tommy Leonard's, who is Mr. Leonard's grandson. The food tastes the same, and so is the atmosphere as the old one. It takes me back to those H.S. days. MessageType: Suggestion CommentsOK Classmates, lets get the ball rolling !!!!!!!!!! ' 2009 will be here before you know it. The time and place are in the works as we speak. Stay tuned for further updates via WHStigers64. Clyde " The Mayor "...... MessageType: Praise CommentsHello to all WHS graduates who are viewing this site. Bill Hillhouse attended my mother's funeral service yesterday and we had a chance to catch up on a few things. I had attended his dad's funeral service earlier this year. I agree that he and his fellow workers have done a tremendous job with this site and I really had fun reading comments and seeing so many names of fellow classmates that I can still remember like it was yesterday. I am looking forward to the 2009 reunion. I retired from the UT Health Science Center in July 2006 and have had dinner with Bill a couple of times and Larry Lovell and Woody Paige too. Hope to see more of you soon. Don Brewer Class of 64 |
