James Smith just clued me in to your site--absolutely fantastic!  The class of '65 is now completely in the shade--though maybe somebody will get inspired.

I just wanted to ask about the photographs.  Most of them won't come up on my screen (using either Internet Explorer or Firefox), and I'm dying to see that picture of the Frostop!  Any advice?

I'm going to be talking to a whole bunch of Whitehaven folks over the next several months for a book I'm doing--about growing up, but focusing particularly on what and how and where we ate.  Fair warning to all!

I stand corrected....Rick and Mike M. are the '62 reunion DJ's, while John and Jon are their trusty lieutenants.....sounds like the right team for the event!

Hi All,

I like the idea that other classes can post their reunion dates and plans.  Everyone's lives are so busy that it is good to know well in advance of any plans.  I spent about four days with some close friends of '64 and two members of the '63 class.  Everyone is talking about going to the '62 reunion; it sounds like a fun evening for all.  I am hoping to make the event too.  Reuniting with former classmates such as Mary Forney Mulrooney, Jan Atkinson Rowland, Mary Margaret Smith Rose, and Judy Robinette this past week gave me an opportunity to 'remember when' all over again.  Rick McQuiston says that we were obstinate sophomores back then, but we knew how to dance and party, right?  I hope I can make it to the August reunion.  Sounds like fun with John Robinette and Jon Ewing as DJ's....What more can we want?

That is so neat Bill. I haven't been to the site in a while. This is a fabulous addition to the site. Thanks and well done. Smith and I have decided we're going to attend the class of 62's 45th reunion in August. Several more of our classmates have said they're coming also. If possible, we'd really like you to be there. I think it'll be a good evening.

Keep in touch and thanks for the heads-up on the addition to the site..........Hope things are going well for you professionally and personally..........

Bill,

Just revisited the 64 website.  I have to throw out some more kudos.  Now that you've got links from the case inside cover to the tunes, it's a piece of cake to play any number.   Had to be a whole lot of work to get 'er done.

It's really attractive and very easy to dial up your selection.

I'm mucho impressdo!!

Rick

Hi Bill,

James, Carol, Rick and I just happened to be part of the three volumes of those greatest love songs.  James put a lot of work into it and needed some input from a few "oldie but goodies" fans like us.  We enjoyed the project very much.  I was glad to see that the web team put the songs on the website for ALL to enjoy.  Thanks for letting us know, Bill.  These songs should bring lots of sweet memories to many baby boomers.

Love,
Bonnie

I certainly think Bill has gone beyond the call of duty !!  There are a couple of typo errors on the song liston two of the CD's, but hopefully no one will notice.  I should have caught them before my son in law finished.  I do have corrected ones if anyone wants them.  I will send each of you a corrected jewel box liner if you can tell me what the mistakes are !!   Ha ! Ha !!! James, '64

2/2/07

Bill,

Absolutely spectacular!  Superb job.  Nice sound.  If you want to really jerk some tears, have Smoke Gets in Your Eyes play automatically when the website opens.

And, I must admit, I feel somewhat like a celebrity with my picture up there and all.
This seems somewhat like a reunion of the varsity OBG team.  We had a lot of fun brainstorming for weeks on the tunes.  All James had to do was all the work.  Really!  He knows the music, and he put it together in the most attractive package imaginable.  What a guy!

Course we did have a few rhubarbs along the way cause those obstinate sophomore (not snotnose) girls would not agree with me on everything.

Hello, Bonnie J and Carol!!

This is a nostalgic and beautiful addition to an already great website.

And you can tell everyone I said so.

Will it remain a secret kind of deal?

The web site is wonderful and it certainly brings back memories.  I am grateful, also.  Thanks Bill.

Bill....You can add my birthday as April 14.  Keep up the great work.

Glen Gowen

Bill, you have done a nice job on the website.  Thanks for all of your hard work.  I know you and the team work together to get information and pictures.  That must take a lot of time.  Again, thanks....
Bonnie Jordan

It looks good Bill.  I am going to send some more pics from the 30th today and tomorrow. I think it will be all that I have.  Do you want any pictures from a WHS party that we had in Atlanta back in the 90's when I lived there ?  Seems we had two, one at Melaine Perry's and one at Susie Morris Ball's.  There was one before I moved there, but I do not know if there were any pictures taken.  To everyone else, does anyone have access to more pics from past reunions, formal or not ??  I will scan and send them to Bill if anyone will send them by mail to me, I promise to return them !!  Since retiring I've got plenty of time to do the pictures.  Bill Hillhouse is doing an outstanding job with our website.

James  Smith

James, you are so right about the job bill is doing and i think we all appreciate his hard work.  i know i do.

Very nice additions Bill. Hope Marlette can talk David into posting his "tips". And the other site is neat. The WHS website is really looking good Bill. The yearbook addition is really nice. On behalf of our 64' crew, thanks again Bill..............Earl Walton

I love the web site. It certainly brings back old memories for me. I saw my Dad's picture on Charles Ferrel's page. I had forgotten about that article. Right now I am in the middle of unpacking several boxes of things my mother left after she died. They have been in storage for about 3yrs. I am sure I will come across some things I can add to Whitehaven memories. Thanks for setting up the web site. I know it took a lot of work and it is really well done.
Thanks again,

Great job Bill. I've enjoyed reminiscing about our WHS days again. Including the faculty and staff was a good idea.
Thanks again Bill...............Earl Walton

I know Sonny has my birthday date, but please do copy this to him. I 'll contact him as well. Thanks Bill for all this good work on the website. Means alot to a bunch of ole' WHS 64' folks like me.....................Earl Walton

Hello Bill.
I'm interested in submitting a bio and pictures on the WHSclass'64 web site and telling my military story. How do I go about it?

Oh! I did view the web site and found it to be EXCELLENT. What a wonderful site. You have a gift in doing a web site. Most impressive. Really brought back memories viewing the pictures of the "kids" and former heart throbs or infatuations that I was too bashful to approach.

Just ran into Clyde and he turned me onto this great website. All you guys are doing a great job and I will continue to visit this site. I made the thirty and forty year reunions and really enjoyed the pictures from the tenth and twentieth.

11/2/05

Bill,
Thanks for a great looking web site. I feel that your teammates are really doing a wonderful job. Are you working on a Tribute To Armed Forces Class of 64 site ? I believe this would be a honor toward those who are serving & had served our country in the past for our freedom as we know it. Thanks again from "" The Mayor of Whitehaven """".
Clyde.......................

I have enjoyed viewing the website for the first time tonight. Know all of you have put many hours of hard work into this project and I do appreciate it.

Just a note to tell you what a great job you're doing .. however thankless!  Art's enjoying it too!  We both know how much work it takes to do a project like you're doing .. we just wanted to say thank you very much and keep up the good work!

I have a
huge thank you for Dana Dorrity for all the names she has supplied for the pictures of the 40th reunion.  I could not have done it with out her.   She definitely knows how to play the Name Game.

10/15/05
From a brief look at the pictures on the website, this is the only one of me I saw.(Janice has her picture next to it on the 10th reunion pics)  I think Carol Anne is in half of them.  Janice and Jan Hardy are in the other half.  Could it be they are more photogenic?  Quite possibly, but pity my son who is scarred for life with the resemblance.  This blew me away looking at the picture of me from oh not soooo long ago!!  As a last thought, Bill could you reduce the number of pictures of Clyde Harbin?  It would improve the site - only kidding Clyde!!

Don't misunderstand me, please, I'm not trying to single out anybody regarding whose pictures are on the website.  I could care less about how many times my picture is on there.  Just trying to be humorous - I haven't worked on any of the reunions and have shown up at a minimum of the functions.  I appreciate the people that have made them possible.  I just realized how much my mop of hair (then) looked like my son's now.  The rest is just my attempt at being funny and complimenting the ladies in our class.  Still don't know why you would put Clyde's picture in there (that's a joke!!)

R. David Cullum

Thanks Bill,
The new photos are wonderful.  All of the photos bring back many kinds of memories.  I've looked carefully at the picture of each of our classmates that have died and remember them all as they were back in 64'.  I remember Hankins and Fox and Skeeter, and others at our earlier reunions.  Bittersweet memories, but fond memories.  You've done a good thing with this Bill for all of us. Again, a heartfelt thank you.
Earl Walton

Hail, all powerful, Webmaster!
I can't seem to get onto the website.  Is there a problem you are aware of?  Or could it be that Coca-Cola wants me to be doing something else while at work?  By the way, the website is great.  I can't imagine how much work you and your "underlings" have put into it.  There is nothing quite like a WHS '64 grad!  Thanks for all your hard work.
Melaine Pennebaker

Bill,
Your work and your cohorts' work on the website has been terrific.  As a twelve year student with two older sisters who were also twelve year students and a mother who taught 7th grade, I have a lot of friends and/or acquaintances throughout a number of years at WHS.  I'd like to take advantage of adding the class of 1965 in accordance with the existing guidelines.  I'm sure other classes would like to do the same but I know you don't want to be overburdened.  Let me know what process I might follow.
Guy Massey, Class of 1965

I just wanted to tell you what a great job you have done with this.  I know it took a lot of time and hard work and I really do appreciate it.  That you so much!!!  It is wonderful.
Jan Atkinson

Hi Bill.................... All the recent and more to come are my pictures that I took at the 20 year reunion.  The Mayor and I are working together to send these photos . I think only a few people have ever seen these .  Thanks for doing such a great job with the website.  I look forward every day checking it.
Jan Hardy Bolton

Carol Ann,
I just read the essay on your page, and it is wonderful! It took me back to fall of our senior year. Just wanted you to know I really enjoyed it!
Dana

Well, thank you Dana. I got sort of misty eyed one night when I heard the band music and noise from the Daphne High School stadium, which is not nearly as close to me as WHS's stadium was to my house. It just brought back memories and I wrote it all down awhile back for no particular reason. When this page came about, I thought I would share it.

Bill:
You’ve really done a nice job on the Whitehaven website. I’ve enjoyed checking out your work

The above comment comes from the friend that has graciously hosted our site.  He is a professional graphic artist and web site designer. If anyone is looking for a place to host their site let me know and I will put you in touch with Tony.  Bill Hillhouse

One of my sisters pulled up the site tonight and thought you did a great job on my biography. Just thought I would pass that on. She said the site was awesome. I told her to check into putting something on the "other classes" section, so maybe if she has time, she will.
Carol Anne Gaston Stark

Bill,
I just read all the comments so far and I agree that you have done a tremendous job with this. Thanks for taking it on! The rest of us could not have done anything without you.
Carol Anne Gaston Stark

Bill and team,

Bill,
I have been on the reunion committees, doing the awards, and helping Jan Hardy with the decorations. We weren't acquainted in high school, but I feel a connection with everyone in our great class. You'all have done a great job setting up the website, and we all appreciate the effort. Is there anything that I could do? Is there any further registration needed to be on the site? Again, thanks.
Janice Follner Cummins

Bill, this is excellent! Thanks for all the work you have done to make this a reality.
