Name: Chicken Continental
Submittor: Bill Hillhouse

Ingredients

10 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast (depending on the size or your Crock Pot) 10 Strips of bacon (one for each chicken breast used) 2 jars of Dried beef (people call it chipped beef, comes in little round jars near the Tuna in Kroger) 4 cans of cream of Mushroom soup (you use 2 here and hold 2 in reserve for later) Large container of Sour Cream (diet is OK if you want to) 2 tubs of small Mushrooms and ½ of medium onion (finely chopped) Shorten, Vegetable Oil, or Butter (I used butter for more flavor and it worked just great) Package of Egg noodles or some Fafalle those bow tie looking things (Fafalle makes a nice presentation)

Directions

Do the following the night before or early in the morning. Cooking time should be 8 hours on low, so plan ahead. • Coat the inside (walls only) of the Crockpot with butter (not too thick) • Line the walls of the pot with the dried beef, bottom and sides • Mix 2 cans of Cream of mushroom soup with ½ of the Sour Cream Add water ½ can of water and, onions and stir until blended well • Spread a layer of this mixture in the bottom of the crock pot • Sprinkle in some mushrooms • Wrap chicken breast with a slice of bacon • Place chicken on top of first layer of Soup and Sour Cream • Add a layer of soup and Sour cream on top of the chicken • Sprinkle in some mushrooms (Only use one tub at this time) • Continue adding layers of both until all used up When 8 hour cooking time is done cook noodles or fafalle per instructions. Put noodles on plate and Chicken Contental (CC) on top. Be sure to include the beef with each serving. Serve with vegetables of your choice. Broccoli would be very good with this dish.

Misc

If you have left overs Leave CC in pot and add any left over noodles. Never nuke it to reheat it, always heat slowing in Crock Pot, it is much better that way. Mix and add reserve cans of Cream of Mushroom and Sour cream as needed, depending on amount of leftovers. You can decide from here, it is a personal preference, not much way to go wrong. Last time I added one can of water to 2 cans of soup just to have some fluid, this is optional depending on how fluid you want the dish. I added some noodles also. If the chicken runs out brown 1lb of ground chuck and add to noodles. Add the other tub of mushrooms at any time.
